Overview

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care, offers an experienced Advanced Practice Practitioner an opportunity to perform hospital rounding at Boulder Community Hospital and Longmont (25 hours/week) and clinic duties at Boulder RMCC (15 hours/week).

Salary Range

$110,000 – $, based on education, experience, certification, and other factors. Responsibilities

Hospital Rounding:
The role includes performing patient examinations and clinical evaluations, managing clinical care, ordering and reviewing diagnostic studies and medications, and participating in short‑term and long‑term patient care planning with the physician team.

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients.
  • Initiate and document appropriate interventions; evaluate and record patient/family response and prescribe therapies as indicated.
  • Perform procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide education.
  • Promote wellness and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Incorporate evidence‑based research into clinical practice.
  • Maintain solid knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Complete patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Provide case management for patients and their families.
  • Serve as a resource for nursing staff regarding clinical trial information.
  • Provide palliative care to patients and families as needed.
Qualifications

Minimum qualifications vary for Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, and Clinical Nurse Specialist tracks. Core requirements include:

- Appropriate advanced practice licensure (RN with Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist certification, or Physician Assistant certification).

- At least three years of clinical experience in a related specialty.

- Current BLS/CPR certification.

- Preferred certifications: AOCNP, AOCNS, or National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Physical Demands

Full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing, walking for extended periods, lifting up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing within normal limits.

Work Environment

Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and conditions common to oncology/hematology clinic settings. Reasonable accommodations possible.
