Job Details:

Jogan Health is looking for CNA for a temporary assignment in Boulder, Colorado. The CNA performs duties that assist the caregivers and promotes effective departmental functioning. Direct patient care functions are under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN).

Pay Local: $21/hr
Hours: 40 hr/week
Contract Type: 13-week assignment

• Routinely demonstrates ability to set priorities to complete the workload. Coordinates work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency during the assigned shift.
• Communicates problems to the primary nurse or charge nurse/clinical lead promptly. Asks questions to clarify misunderstandings. Requests assistance from appropriate personnel in the event of an unusually difficult situation.
• Assists medical staff and provides direction to visitors, patients, physicians, and families in a concise and informative manner, while maintaining a positive and courteous tone.
• Accurately reports at the end of the shift or when leaving the department.
• It is the expectation that all care providers document accurately and in real time, utilizing the electronic medical record within their department.
• Places call light within reach of patient.
• Places bed in low position with brake on after being made (unless post-op bed).
• Maintains siderails in up position as indicated.
• Assists in preparation of patient rooms, admission, and transfers.
• Orients patient to use of bed, call light, television, and telephone.
• Tidies patient rooms and bedside tables by removing used and unneeded items.
• Assists in stocking supplies as needed.
• Removes trash and dirty linens as needed.
• Distributes drinking water and approved snacks to patients.
• Maintains supply of cups in patient rooms and/or at patient bedside.
• Distributes and picks up trays in timely fashion.
• Assists in setting up meal trays and feeds appropriate patients.
• Positions patients as needed for meals.
• Records intake as delegated by nurse.
• Follows patient fluid restrictions and calorie count orders as delegated by nurse.
• Assures patients receive correct meal selections in accordance with provider orders.
• Answers patient call lights and performs appropriate follow-up in a timely manner.
• Performs morning and evening ADL’s (oral care, bathing, etc.).
• Assists staff with repositioning and patient mobility.
• Independently mobilizes patients.
• Empties foley catheters, urinals, bedpans, commodes, urine hats, and drains.
• Assists patients to and from the bedside commode or bathroom.
• Accurately takes vital signs and reports to appropriate staff in a timely manner.
