Ortho Surgery RN Program Coordinator
Responsible for supervising hospital activities and coordinating patient care for the orthopedics surgery program. This role leads the team of RN and support staff, ensuring safe and efficient patient care across the surgical suite.
Responsibilities- Supervise, lead, role model, and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in patient care and physician support.
- Plan daily staffing and productivity, assign appropriate staff, and secure necessary resources.
- Serve as mentor and role model for staff, providing clinical leadership and guidance.
- Support associates in resolving patient/unit issues, concerns, and complaints; escalating as warranted.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives, new projects, and unit functions.
- Interview and select personnel for assigned areas.
- Identify and implement financial and quality improvement opportunities, collaborating with physicians and staff.
- Perform RN responsibilities, including patient assessment and care coordination.
- Demonstrate exemplary service orientation to patients, members, providers, and staff.
- Oversee training and orientation, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Manage associate performance, including coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
- Develop recommendations for policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Partner with physician leaders to promote patient‑focused service and ethical practice.
- Assist with staff, project, and budget management.

- Committed to patient care excellence.
- BSN from an accredited program.
- Current Colorado RN license or compact license with the ability to obtain a Colorado RN license.
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
- ACLS/NRP/PALS as appropriate for the unit or service.
- Minimum of three (3) years of RN experience.
- Preferred experience:
3–5 years of orthopedics or neuro surgery circulating experience in a Level I or II hospital; at least one year as RN coordinator or Charge RN; current specialty certification appropriate for the unit or service.
Hours:
40 hours per week. Shift options include five 8‑hour days or four 10‑hour days. Call shifts are required. Eligible for Call Shift Differential plus base pay; differentials may be stacked (evening, weekend, etc.).
Hourly pay range: $44.42 – $65.70 (actual rate dependent on experience).
LocationIntermountain Health Lutheran Hospital, Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
