Summary:
BMC is currently seeking experienced and new grad Registered Nurses (RN) to join our team in the ASC / GI Lab. This position will work full-time, 36 hours per week; the ASC / GI Lab hours are approximately 7:30 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. This position will enjoy evening, weekends, and major holidays off.
Job Duties- Supports the provider in a variety of patient care duties and performs related clerical duties in accordance with the area assigned.
- Rooms patients, collects vitals and records all medical information in the patient’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Prepares exam rooms for provider’s use, collects specimens, administers and documents all prescribed, OTC medication and drug samples per protocols.
- Performs routine and special nursing procedures per the provider’s order.
- Teaches nursing procedures to patients and their families regarding specific out-patient medical care as needed.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to recognize and identify patient’s symptoms and use appropriate professional judgment in course of action.
- Possesses a broad knowledge base of general nursing practice, knowledge of acute practice based on skill level, licensure and scope of practice.
- Requires good nursing assessment skills and knowledge of the post anesthesia care unit, including medication reactions and monitor interpretation.
- Good history-taking skills, strong, competent computer skills.
- Possesses accurate and complete documentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability of good time management and organizational skills.
- Relates well and communicates with patients, providers, and staff.
- Ability to demonstrate self-direction in establishing priorities and working with little supervision.
- Ability to maintain high level of precision in judgment, accuracy of assessment, and skill in problem solving under stress based on skill level, licensure and scope of practice.
- Must have a current RN License.
- RN wage – $36.04 - $45.06/hour; depending on experience.
