The Colorado State Veterans Center at Homelake is a State-owned and operated skilled nursing facility and domiciliary dedicated to serving those who have served us. We strive to provide excellent customer service and to respect and honor resident choices regarding bathing, rising, bedtimes, and other personal decisions. Our philosophy is to provide residents a home where life and love abound.
You are required to work at your assigned work location during your scheduled work times. Sunday - Thursday - 9:00 am – 5:30 pm; shifts may vary depending on business needs.

The Hospitality Host position will complement the licensed and certified nursing staff and, as a team, provide for the needs of the resident by ensuring safety, hydration, and maintaining a clean, safe, comfortable living environment. This includes frequent checks, providing residents with a beverage of choice, tidying up of rooms, answering call lights, responding to non-hands-on care requests, reporting other needs to appropriate staff, interacting with residents, and caring for their needs as allowed by regulation to ensure resident safety, health, and well‑being.
Additionally,as a Hospitality Host you can expect to:
- Interact with residents, providing for their needs as allowed by regulations.
- Make safety checks, tidying up rooms, and assist with simple pleasures. Answer call lights and assist with non-hands‑on care
- Assist residents with cleaning their closets, dresser drawers, and personal refrigerators
- Maintain resident rooms/neighborhood and equipment in a safe, clean, and orderly manner; use universal precautions and infection control protocol
- During mealtimes in the dining room will act as the host/hostess and assist residents with menus, taking orders, meal setup, providing residents with their beverage of choice, and ensuring residents' hygiene is appropriate. Ensuring resident preferences are honored as much as possible
- Assist residents with beverage of choice or snacks (checking with nursing staff/culinary staff on what residents can and cannot drink or eat), whether it be in the resident’s room or dining room
- Monitor and record information as trained and assigned to include assisting residents with taking and logging temperatures in their personal refrigerators as scheduled
- With the permission of the resident when necessary, cleaning or removal of expired items in refrigerators as a part of infection control protocol
- Attends all staff meetings, all‑day training when scheduled, dietary staff meetings, learning circles, and huddles as needed and scheduled. Completes all necessary trainings.

Experience Only:
- Six (6) months of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position

- Prior experience in a long‑term care setting
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing techniques
- CDHS employees (all Direct contact with vulnerable persons): CBI name check and fingerprint check, ICON Colorado court database, Medicare fraud database, Reference Checks, Professional License verification (licensure requirements), Drug Screen, PREA (Division of Youth Services), Trails check (direct contact with children), CAPS (direct contact with adults – Mental Health Institutes, Regional Centers, Veterans Community Living Centers)
- Shift Work – Explain: evenings, weekends, holidays, split shifts
- Vaccines as required by the State of CO
