Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department is seeking to hire a Seasonal Vegetation Management Infrastructure Mowing/Field Technician Team Lead
. The Lead technician will work directly with the full‑time Noxious Weed Infrastructure Resource Specialist in carrying out their daily tasks in the area of noxious weed management for open spaces and the county’s rights of way. The county mowing team will work with the Vegetation Infrastructure Management Specialist and will be tasked with maintaining all vegetation located within the approximate 600 miles of the county road rights of way, trailhead parking lots, and other parks and open spaces.
The selected individual will be responsible for maintaining roadside rights of way for commuter, pedestrian, and cyclist safety by operating large tractors and mowers, suppressing weeds on open spaces, performing fire‑mitigation mowing for public safety, and manually removing noxious weeds by hand or with handheld weed‑trimming equipment.
This is an hourly, non‑benefited position that will work 40 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 6:30 am – 5:00 pm. The position will work out of 5201 St Vrain Road, Longmont, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non‑exempt (eligible for overtime).
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range
: $25.00 – $27.40 hourly
