Summary:
** Under direct supervision, the Water Resources Maintenance Crew Member performs basic maintenance work in the watershed area.

**** ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*** Performs basic maintenance work in the watershed area, including fence and road repair, cutting and hauling timber, and clearing spillways and dams of timber and debris.
* Hikes several miles carrying tools to reach work site locations when necessary.
* Performs related duties as required to meet the needs of the city.
* Knows and complies with all city and department policies and participates in professional trainings and development.
** MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

** WORKING CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**
* ** Physical and Mental Effort:
** Ability to perform a wide range of strenuous, physical work in a high-altitude outdoor environment with exposure to a variety of weather conditions and requiring frequent standing, walking and kneeling for extended periods of time. Upper body strength to lift up to 50 pounds on a daily basis. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities that permits the employee to communicate effectively in person.
Sufficient vision or other powers of observation and manual dexterity that permits the employee to operate all required equipment.
* ** Work Environment:
** Works in a high-altitude, outdoor environment with an exposure to a variety of weather conditions. Employee must live in employer-provided accommodations at Silver Lake Watershed Monday through Friday, or as otherwise negotiated. Silver Lake Watershed is 13 miles from Nederland, CO, which is the nearest town. Employee sleeps in shared co-ed bunkhouse and has access to shared co-ed bathhouse. Employee works an eight (8) hour shift each day.
Employee carpools between Boulder and Silver Lake in a city vehicle at the start and end of the work week. During non-working hours, employee must comply with city rules, regulations, and policies while on-site.

** Lawn mower, weed-eater, jackhammer, pickup truck, hand and power tools including pick, shovel and chain saw, two-way radio and phone.
