Summary:
** Under limited supervision, the Water Resources Maintenance Crew Lead performs and takes the lead on basic maintenance work in the watershed area.

**** ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*** Takes lead role on the watershed crew in tasks such as fence and road repair, cutting and hauling timber, and clearing spillways and dams of timber and debris.
* Performs basic maintenance work in the watershed area, including some forestry work.
* Hikes several miles carrying tools to reach work site locations when necessary.
* Patrols the watershed for trespassers.
* Reads stream gages to ascertain the creek flow.
* Performs related duties as required to meet the needs of the city.
* Knows and complies with all city and department policies and participates in professional trainings and development.

* Valid Driver’s License and ability to maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record.

** REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
*** Working towards or completed high school diploma, or GED.
* One (1) season experience as Watershed Crew Member or outdoor maintenance work, such as fence building, lawn care or branch trimming.

** WORKING CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**
* ** Physical and Mental Effort:
** Ability to perform a wide range of strenuous, physical work in a high-altitude outdoor environment with exposure to a variety of weather conditions and requiring frequent standing, walking and kneeling for extended periods of time. Upper body strength to lift up to 50 pounds on a daily basis. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities that permits the employee to give verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person.
