Full‑Time Seasonal Position | $30 per Hour | Long‑Term Growth Opportunity
Kaizen Lawn and Home is looking for an experienced, highly capable Operations Lead to join our team as we continue to grow.
This is a hands‑on field position. The Operations Lead will spend the majority of their time actively performing landscape work, particularly more technical or specialized services, while also leading crews, training employees, maintaining quality standards, and helping coordinate day‑to‑day operations.
This is not a desk‑only management role. We are looking for someone who can lead by example: someone who is willing and able to work hard in the field, solve problems independently, and train other team members to perform work correctly and efficiently.
Compensation and Long‑Term Opportunity- Starting pay: $30 per hour
- Schedule: Full‑time seasonal work through November/December
- Winter opportunity: Additional work may be available during the winter based on company needs and performance
- Long‑term path: Strong performers may be offered a year‑round salaried position with increased compensation, responsibility, and influence within the company

Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Operations Lead will be responsible for performing skilled landscape work in the field while simultaneously helping oversee the execution of work across multiple crews.
Responsibilities include:
- Actively performing landscape maintenance, irrigation, cleanup, and softscape installation work in the field
- Taking the lead on more technical or specialized jobs that require greater experience and judgment
- Leading by example and setting a high standard for quality, productivity, and professionalism
- Training new and existing employees on landscaping techniques, equipment use, efficiency, and job‑site expectations
- Directly leading one crew while helping coordinate, manage, and support up to two additional crews
- Assigning tasks and ensuring each crew has the equipment, materials, and information needed to complete the day’s work
- Conducting quality‑control checks and ensuring that work meets company standards before crews leave each property
- Monitoring labor hours, job progress, and field productivity
- Troubleshooting operational problems and making sound decisions under pressure
- Communicating clearly with company leadership regarding job status, client concerns, scheduling issues, materials, and equipment needs
- Helping maintain vehicles, tools, and landscaping equipment
- Using CRM and scheduling software to track jobs, crew assignments, notes, and operational details
Applicants must have at least three years of professional landscaping experience and must be proficient enough to train a brand‑new employee in the proper execution of core landscape maintenance services, including:
- Spring, fall, and seasonal cleanups
- Plant identification and basic plant care
- Shrub pruning and general landscape upkeep
- Lawn mowing, string trimming, edging, and blowing
- Core aeration and over seeding
- Compost and soil‑amendment applications
- Broadcast spreader use for organic fertilizer applications
- Mulch installation
- Basic softscape installations
- Irrigation troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs
- Minimum of three years of professional landscaping experience
- Strong technical knowledge of standard landscape maintenance services
- Ability to perform physically demanding fieldwork throughout the workday
- Ability to train employees with little or no prior landscaping experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and accountability skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple crews and competing priorities
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to make decisions without constant oversight
- Comfort using CRM platforms, scheduling tools, and basic digital systems
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
