Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Emergency Veterinarian to join our team at the Emergency Pet Clinic of Longmont (Longmont, Colorado). The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high‑quality veterinary care and possess excellent communication skills to build lasting relationships with clients. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians, technicians and support staff, closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Director.

Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups
Communicate with clients and educate them
Conduct diagnostic procedures and surgery
Maintain accurate medical records
Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols
Promote teamwork and staff efficiency
Collaborate with Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations
Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily hospital operations (intake to discharge)
Monitor cases and attend daily rounds when possible to ensure high standards
Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels
Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications (Required)

Veterinary degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university
Current state veterinary license
DEA registration maintained
1+ years of emergency practice experience
Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
Excellent surgical and dental skills
Team‑oriented work approach
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality veterinary care
Client communication skills: elicit information, establish rapport, offer explanations
Ability to display confidence when dealing with stressed or painful animals
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds (may include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling)
Perform moderately physically demanding work periodically

Pay Range

$150,000 — $160,000 USD
