Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Emergency Veterinarian to join our team at the Emergency Pet Clinic of Longmont (Longmont, Colorado). The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high‑quality veterinary care and possess excellent communication skills to build lasting relationships with clients. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians, technicians and support staff, closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Director.

- Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups
- Communicate with clients and educate them
- Conduct diagnostic procedures and surgery
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols
- Promote teamwork and staff efficiency
- Collaborate with Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations
- Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily hospital operations (intake to discharge)
- Monitor cases and attend daily rounds when possible to ensure high standards
- Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
- Veterinary degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university
- Current state veterinary license
- DEA registration maintained
- 1+ years of emergency practice experience
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
- Excellent surgical and dental skills

- Ability to display confidence when dealing with stressed or painful animals

- Perform moderately physically demanding work periodically
- Advanced clinical knowledge and skills for comprehensive examinations and treatments
- Problem‑solving ability to manage high‑quality hospital operations
- Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff
- Professionalism and constructive feedback culture
- Business acumen to understand hospital management and finances
- Knowledge of ethical principles guiding patient decisions
- Commitment to continuing education and facilitation of others’ growth
$150,000 — $160,000 USD
