Veterinary Assistant Fremont Veterinary Hospital

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. Previous experience is required and would prefer an Approved/Certified candidate to match the highly educated team we currently have. The ideal candidate will assist our veterinary staff in providing exceptional care to our animal patients. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the clinic, ensuring the well-being of animals under our care.

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately (Fear Free Certified or at least willing to use methods)
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, examination rooms and surgical areas
• Provide basic animal care such as feeding, grooming, and exercising
• Administer medications as directed by veterinarians
• Monitor and record vital signs of animals
• Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
• Assist with laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing
• When Client Service Representatives need assistance, manage client communications by greeting them, scheduling appointments, and answering phone calls.

• Passion for pet care and animal husbandry
• Previous work as a veterinary assistant or in a related field is required (Approved/Certified candidate to match the highly educated team we currently have is preferred)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
• Basic computer skills for documenting patient information.
• Physical ability to restrain larger animals and perform physically demanding tasks.
