In this role, the Neurology Technician will be responsible for monitoring anesthesia during MRI procedures and neurosurgical cases. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience with complex neurological conditions, and to deepen your understanding of brain function and neurological disease.
Responsibilities- Technical skills: venipuncture, blood draw, placing IV catheter, lab sample collection
- Admitting and discharging procedural and surgical cases.
- Dispensing medications directed by veterinarian
- Preparing estimates for the doctor and inputting technician appointment charges
- Assisting neurologist with initial consultations and rechecks including collecting a medical history and obtaining patient vitals.
- Anesthesia monitoring for MRIs and neurosurgical procedures, endotracheal intubation, calculation of CRIs.
- Ability to multitask in fast paced environment with a positive attitude
- Ability to set up and break down operating room and clean surgical instruments
- Calculate drug dosages
- Professional and compassionate client communication in-person and on the phone.
- Must be CVT, LVT, RVT, or PVT certified in Colorado.
- Experience
: 1 year + of applicable experience - Strong knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures, and terminology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, and work on your feet for prolonged periods
- Exceptional multi-tasking skills, maintaining high-quality standards in patient care and decision-making.
- Ability to communicate effectively with CASE staff and team members.
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading
) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
