Assist the Property Technician with the daily maintenance and improvement of State Wildlife Areas in Jackson County. Primary duties will include but are not limited to: noxious weed control; facility and equipment maintenance; fence repair and construction; mandatory big game animal checks; operating and maintaining vehicles, trailers, weed spraying equipment, All Terrain Vehicles (ATV's), power tools, and chainsaws; handling animal carcasses;

data recording and record keeping; as well as interacting with and answering questions from hunters and anglers. This position will also assist District Wildlife Managers, Biologists, and other Property Technicians with wildlife management related tasks.

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must have a current & valid driver’s license for operating a state vehicle
• Work-site will provide some uniform items, however the employee may be required to purchase limited uniform items at their own expense.
• Must have experience working with a variety of hand and power tools
• Must have vehicle/equipment/maintenance experience
• Must have ability to hike long distances with a pack
• Must have ability to accomplish physically demanding tasks
• Must be willing and able to work outside which may involve inclement weather
• Must possess a good attitude
• Must possess enthusiasm for protecting Colorado’s resources

Pursuant to the DNR-120 Fleet and Driving Standards Administrative Directive, any worker who will be expected to drive a State-owned vehicle is responsible for maintaining a safe driving record and a valid driver license prior to driving any State-owned vehicle.

To be compliant with the new fleet vehicle policy, Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) will be pulled for review for workers who:

• Have an assigned State fleet vehicle
• Are required to operate a vehicle as part of the position
• Utilize a State fleet vehicle as a pool vehicle

• This position involves physical activities that require considerable arm and leg use and movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
• Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds repeatedly during the course of a single workday
