Job Number: 126963
Location: Boulder, US
Job Description
The Walczak Lab at the University of Colorado Boulder is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join an interdisciplinary research program at the interface of chemical biology, stem cell biology, and neurodegeneration.
Our laboratory investigates the molecular mechanisms of protein misfolding and aggregation in disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, ALS, and related dementias. We develop and apply advanced stem cell technologies to generate human neuronal and glial models for mechanistic and translational studies.
Project ScopeThe successful candidate will contribute to ongoing efforts to model neurodegenerative disease using human iPSC-derived systems.
Responsibilities include:
- Culture and maintenance of human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)
- Directed differentiation into neuronal and glial lineages
- Molecular and cellular biology assays (e.g., PCR, Western blotting, immunocytochemistry)
- Imaging, sample preparation, and data analysis
- General lab organization and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team
Required:
- PhD in biology, neuroscience, molecular biology, or related field
- Prior laboratory experience with cell culture and sterile technique
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred:
- Experience with human iPSC culture and differentiation
- Familiarity with fluorescence microscopy and/or molecular cloning
- Interest in neurodegeneration, protein aggregation, or stem cell modeling
- Full-time, in-person position (Boulder, CO)
- Salary: $60,000–$70,000/year, commensurate with experience
- Start date:
Flexible (priority consideration for applications received by May 10, 2026) - Final date to receive applications:
