Job Summary
The Institute of Cognitive Science at the University of Colorado Boulder anticipates hiring a full‑time postdoctoral fellow for statistical modeling of educational data. The project focuses on analyzing data to improve educational outcomes for students, including learning, engagement, and collaborative discourse during small‑group tutoring and problem‑solving sessions. The individual will develop analytical techniques, examine intervention impacts, and publish research findings.
Responsibilities- Prepare large datasets for analysis by merging data from multiple sources and checking data integrity.
- Develop and apply statistical techniques for modeling large longitudinal, multilevel, multivariate datasets.
- Translate research questions into representative statistical models.
- Maintain current best practices in open science.
- Disseminate results by leading publication efforts and assisting with reporting.
- Manage projects, including supervising staff and students.
- Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology, Statistics, Education, or a related technical field (at the time of appointment).
- Strong writing skills and the ability to conduct independent research, evidenced by multiple first‑author publications.
- Demonstrated expertise in analyzing complex multivariate datasets using advanced methods such as structural equation modeling, instrumental variable analysis, mixed‑effects modeling, longitudinal data analysis, and multivariate time‑series modeling.
- Experience with cluster randomized controlled trials or quasi‑experimental designs and data analysis.
- Expertise in statistical modeling using R and/or Python.
- Experience with cluster RCTs or quasi‑experimental design and data analysis.
- Theoretical foundation in learning science and cognitive science of learning.
- Experience in Bayesian analysis, latent growth curve analysis, multilevel modeling, data wrangling, missing data analysis, network modeling, multivariate time‑series and dynamical systems modeling, mediation and moderation analysis, multiple‑group modeling.
- Evidence of leadership and experience working within large, interdisciplinary teams.
- Salary range: $65,000 to $85,000, based on experience and qualifications.
- Eligible for medical, dental, life insurance, retirement benefits, and monthly vacation and sick leave accruals.
- Potential relocation expense reimbursement of up to $2,500.
