Associate Scientist/Scientist/Senior Scientist, Cell Biology
Think Bioscience:
We develop small-molecule drugs for historically challenging targets by using our synthetic biology platform to uncover novel mechanisms of biomolecular engagement (e.g., new functional pockets). Our team leverages expertise in synthetic biology, protein biophysics, applied enzymology, computational chemistry, and medicinal chemistry to advance small molecules with biochemical activities previously deemed difficult, if not impossible, to achieve. We are passionate about improving the lives of patients with innovative science.
the Position
We are seeking a motivated and hands‑on scientist to join our cell biology group. In this role, you will contribute to the development and execution of cell‑based assays and biological studies that support our therapeutic discovery programs. You will work in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment and have the opportunity to make direct contributions to cutting‑edge science.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute cell‑based assays with various platforms including ELISA, in‑cell western, and flow cytometry.
- Maintain mammalian cell cultures with attention to quality and consistency.
- Perform standard molecular and cellular biology techniques including cloning, qPCR, nucleic acid extraction, SDS‑PAGE and Western blot.
- Generate, analyze and clearly communicate experimental data to a broader team.
- Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records utilizing an Electronic Laboratory Notebook.
- Work on teams with diverse scientific backgrounds and foster a collaborative culture to conduct world‑class science.
- B.S. or M.S. in cell biology, molecular biology, or a related discipline with at least 2 years of hands‑on laboratory experience or a Ph.D. with at least 1 year of post‑graduate laboratory experience (industry experience preferred; relevant academic experience considered).
- Proficiency in mammalian cell culture of adherent and suspension cell lines and aseptic technique.
- Solid foundation in contemporary molecular and cellular biology techniques including cloning, transfection methods, qPCR, protein quantification, SDS‑PAGE, and Western blot.
- Experience with cell‑based screening assay platforms including ELISA, in‑cell western, FRET, HTRF, NanoBRET, Alpha
LISA, and flow cytometric assays. - Familiar with various data analysis tools and scientific software such as Graph Pad Prism, Flow Jo, Image Studio, or similar.
- Broad knowledge of molecular and cellular biology principles.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with a collaborative spirit and a willingness to learn.
- Adaptability and flexibility to work cross‑functionally in a dynamic startup environment.
- A collaborative environment for innovative science and a mission‑driven company.
- Opportunity for technical expansion and professional growth.
- Ability to influence key decisions in a fast‑growing startup.
