Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral researcher with a strong background in organic chemistry. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in designing and executing complex multistep syntheses and a strong interest in developing new chemical methods or applying synthesis to interdisciplinary research problems. Candidates should be able to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative research environment.
The successful applicant will possess strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret experimental results and adapt research strategies accordingly. Excellent communication and organizational skills are expected, as the position involves preparing manuscripts, presenting research findings, and mentoring graduate and undergraduate researchers.
We are particularly interested in candidates who are enthusiastic about tackling challenging problems, contributing to innovative research directions, and participating actively in a dynamic academic laboratory environment. A strong publication record and a commitment to rigorous and reproducible research practices are highly desirable.

Who We Are
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Colorado Boulder is internationally recognized for its specialized research and education into the study of matter, energy, and the interaction between them. Significant areas of research involve environmental and atmospheric chemistry with a considerable focus on renewable energy. Topics range from biological routes to solar energy harvesting to novel materials for direct conversion of sunlight into electricity and fuel.

What Your
Key Responsibilities Will Be
* Design, plan, and execute multistep organic syntheses to access target molecules, intermediates, and chemical probes. Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot synthetic transformations and reaction conditions. Purify and characterize compounds using modern analytical techniques, including NMR spectroscopy, LC-MS, HRMS, and chromatographic methods. Maintain detailed and accurate experimental records in accordance with best practices for research rigor and reproducibility. Analyze and interpret experimental data and prepare figures, reports, and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Present research findings at group meetings, seminars, and scientific conferences. Collaborate with researchers from diverse disciplines, including chemical biology, biochemistry, and biophysics. Mentor graduate and undergraduate students in experimental techniques and research practices. Maintain compliance with institutional laboratory safety standards and regulatory requirements.
What You Should Know
* This position is 100% in person and does not require any travel or work outside of normal business hours.

What We Require
* Ph.D. from an accredited institution in chemistry or related field
