The Bates Lab is seeking a postdoctoral fellow, who will measure and analyze emissions of volatile organic compounds from agriculture during the NASA Farm Flux campaign.

Who We AreThe postdoctoral fellow will join the Bates Lab in Mechanical Engineering at CU Boulder, a group of researchers using diverse modeling and measurement techniques to study the sources, fates, and impacts of organic compounds in the atmosphere. The fellow will also work closely with the Tropospheric Chemistry group at NOAA CSL.
What YourKey Responsibilities Will Be
The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for carrying out research tasks related to the measurement and analysis of volatile organic compounds during NASA's Farm Flux campaign. This includes preparation, setup, and calibration of the NOAA CSL LToF-PTR-MS; operation of the instrument for the Farm Flux large aircraft deployments; data processing and analysis during and after the deployment, including calculation of eddy covariance fluxes from measured concentrations;
participation in Farm Flux science team meetings; and dissemination of results to the scientific community through publications and conference presentations.
The starting salary for this appointment is $70,000 annually.

What We RequirePh.D. in atmospheric chemistry or a closely related field; prior experience with airborne field deployments for atmospheric measurements.
