Job Summary

The Bates Lab is seeking a postdoctoral fellow, who will measure and analyze emissions of volatile organic compounds from agriculture during the NASA Farm Flux campaign.

Who We Are

The postdoctoral fellow will join the Bates Lab in Mechanical Engineering at CU Boulder, a group of researchers using diverse modeling and measurement techniques to study the sources, fates, and impacts of organic compounds in the atmosphere. The fellow will also work closely with the Tropospheric Chemistry group at NOAA CSL.

What Your

Key Responsibilities Will Be
  • preparation, setup, and calibration of the NOAA CSL LToF-PTR-MS
  • operation of the instrument for the Farm Flux large aircraft deployments
  • data processing and analysis during and after the deployment, including calculation of eddy covariance fluxes from measured concentrations
  • participation in Farm Flux science team meetings
  • dissemination of results to the scientific community through publications and conference presentations

What We Require
  • Ph.D. in atmospheric chemistry or a closely related field
  • prior experience with airborne field deployments for atmospheric measurements
