Temporary Researcher Position

The Materials Science & Engineering Program at CU Boulder is seeking a temporary researcher. This position will involve ultrafast X-ray total scattering aimed at understanding ion transport in solid state electrolytes. This will couple THz excitation of ion motion in ceramic electrolytes followed by ultrafast total scattering or pair distribution function (ufPDF). The project will involve the development and use of advanced x-ray scattering as well as electrochemical characterization of model electrolytes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordination of ThZ experiments with PDF experiments at SLAC, EUXFEL and other XFELs.
  • Analysis of large data sets with PDF.
  • Interpretation of the ufPDF.
Position Details

This is a temporary position that will be paid on an hourly basis. The hire rate for this position will be $30.00 per hour. Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.

Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in physics, materials sciences, chemistry, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with synchrotron X-ray scattering and PDF methods.
  • Experience with energy storage chemistries.
