Line cooks at the Rio are responsible for the quick and accurate production of all items on our menu. They are required to know the Rio's recipes and menu item book, and must be able to consistently assemble dishes that meet our standards of quality. Line cooks work closely with their teammates to monitor food quality and production. Their duties include:

• Maintaining a clean and organized work station.
• Receiving deliveries and verifying accuracy.
• Timing and keeping track of multiple orders at one time.
• Preparing all of our menu items correctly by following our recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Operating a variety of kitchen equipment safely.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Able to effectively communicate with management and co-workers.
• Basic Serve Safe knowledge is required.
• Understand and practice proper knife storage and usage.
• Understand and practice all food storage procedures.
• Able to multi-task well and excel in a fast-paced environment.
• Create great working relationships with teammates.

• Must be able to work on foot for extended periods of time (up to 10‑12 hours per day).
• Must be able to move 50 lbs for distances of up to 10 ft.
• Must be able to balance and move up to 25 lbs for distances of up to 50 ft.
• Must be able to withstand work environments from 0 degrees F to 100 degrees

• Must be able to understand and respond to co-workers in a loud environment.
• Must be able to visually recognize proper food presentations and food quality.
