Prep Cook​/Food Ambassador Eatery & Spoon It

We are looking for a skilled Prep Cook to prepare items per our in house recipes. You will be provided recipes for all items. Knife skills a plus for cutting and dicing several items. Ability to learn and work with par levels needed.

The correct person must be able to follow instructions/recipes in cooking and delivering well-prepped food. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. A great ‘can-do’ attitude, team-work, calm under pressure presence is ideal. The candidate will be an early riser with hours aprx. 5am-12pm. Nice shift for getting work done early and enjoying much of the day still.

We participate in tip pooling for all staff. Our kitchen team earns tips plus hourly wage.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Prepare said items by cooking some and mixing properly
• Ensure items are ready for cooking use.
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly

Requirements:

• Willingness to learn, study, practice outside of work. A drive to be great, regardless of task
• Proven experience as a prep cook a plus
• Culinary school is a plus
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
• Ability to work in a team
• Very good communication skills, in a high-stress environment
• High school diploma or equivalent;
  Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
• Willing to live or relocate to the area:
  Buena Vista, Colorado
