Part Time Retail Sales Cashier Associate - Boulder Store

JOB SUMMARY

The Associate I, Retail Sales Cashier, provides exceptional customer service by greeting customers, handling transactions efficiently, and maintaining a well‑stocked, organized sales floor. The role operates a point‑of‑sale (POS) system, ensuring accurate pricing and quality control of products. This position supports Goodwill’s mission by encouraging customers to round up their purchase and thanking them for their support.

• Verify till counts, provide accurate cashier transactions and maintain a balanced cash drawer using a computer‑based POS system.
• Drive the roundup initiative by engaging customers and sharing knowledge of the mission it supports.
• Provide excellent customer service upholding company values.
• Assist customers with questions, concerns, and purchases.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized sales floor by regularly cleaning and organizing shelves, racks, and restrooms.
• Initiate customer delight/power hour calls over intercom to organize and clean sales floor.
• Follow all retail center policies, procedures, and safety processes.
• Cross‑train in other departments or areas and act as a backup for other areas as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Experience

• One year of retail sales or cash handling experience (preferred).

Other requirements

• Accurate with numbers and general calculations; understand value of coins and U.S. currency.
• Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication).
• Effective communication with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Operate a computer‑based cash register and credit‑card machine.
• Endure prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to 8 hours per day.
• See color for accurate transactions.
• Work varied schedule including weekends, evenings, holidays with occasional overtime.
