Software Renewals – Sales Support
Position Profile
Responsible for managing and growing software maintenance renewals within a defined set of accounts. This role drives contract renewals, identifies expansion opportunities, and supports execution of strategic account plans. Integrates solutions across all business lines to support overall account success.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Manage the software relationship within an assigned list of contracted accounts.
- Provide administrative and strategic support to CIP Sales in executing defined account strategies.
- Prepare product recommendations, quotations, and secure sales documentation for equipment orders within centralized, contracted global accounts.
- Drive maintenance renewals, upgrades, add‑on sales, and recommendations for new solutions.
- Maintain detailed records of all account activity within the sales database and communicate regularly with CIP Sales regarding activity, opportunities, and issues.
- Maintain and update customer‑specific product catalogs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all sales‑related paperwork.
- Maintain an assigned account base and achieve revenue goals aligned with renewal opportunities.
- Act as the first point of contact for software renewal contracts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Previous major account management experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to set goals and prioritize realistic objectives.
- Proven track record with 5–7 years of related experience; 2–5 years in sales preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of sales methodologies and processes in a matrixed environment serving Fortune 1000 customers.
- Strong negotiation, communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, time management, and self‑motivation.
- Extensive business acumen and leadership capability.
- Demonstrated success collaborating with diverse teams to build and execute account strategies.
- Thorough understanding of industry‑related products and services.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex information, data, and instructions; able to prepare and communicate technical information when needed.
- Knowledge and application of up‑selling strategies.
- Ability to facilitate selling strategies across field sales resources.
- Proven ability to build strong cross‑functional relationships to support account strategy.
- Ability to analyze complex data from multiple sources, identify issues, and propose solutions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage and drive multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting, ventilation, and normal temperature and noise levels.
- Work is primarily sedentary but may require walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting or carrying objects typically under 10 lbs (e.g., papers, books, files, small parts).
- Requires moderate dexterity and regular use of basic office tools (e.g., calculator, keyboard, small hand tools).
- Requires daily customer site visits, which may be in locations not serviced by public transportation.
