Vaisala’s industry-leading weather observation technologies, instruments, and solutions lay the foundation for the Weather and Environment business area’s strategy, enabling our customers to improve their ability to measure and forecast weather and weather phenomena. The business area serves selected weather-dependent customers to whom accurate, real-time, uninterrupted, and reliable weather data is essential to run efficient operations.
We are currently seeking an Inside Sales Representative in our Louisville, CO location to join the North America Sales & Marketing
team s is a full-time position, eligible for hybrid work. You will be joining a highly motivated team of professionals, responsible for building long-term, profitable business partnerships in the North America weather space.
Success across Vaisala’s Sales & Marketing global teams is built on decadal key account management relationships. Our customers are predominantly in the B2G (business-to-government) space, which includes federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as key research institutions and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Vaisala is the “Intel Inside” of the North America Weather Enterprise, with Vaisala observations and environmental intelligence touching and enhancing peoples’ lives daily.
Whatwill you do?
In this position you will support both pre- and post-sales activities with account managers, as well as operating as an independent sales function to help drive business with established customers. As such, you will be an equal and valued business contributor across the Sales & Marketing team for the North America Weather Enterprise. You will report to the North America Director of Sales.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Develop strong relationships with existing, and potential customers.
- Proactively manage sales lead queues and support quote requests.
- Be an active member on Opportunity Teams in support of Request For Quote (RFQ) and Request For Proposal (RFP) cases. This will include, but is not limited to, participating in tender preparations, and preparing legal documentation, such as Past Performance and Certs & Reps.
- Work in close cooperation with the Sales Coordination team to ensure accurate Customer Master Data information in the Vaisala ERP system.
- Where applicable, manage communications with distributors, agents, customers, value-added-resellers, and/or integrators in all sales related issues & inquiries, and ensure customer feedback is routed through the proper channel(s).
- Some travel may be required in support of business sustainment and development.
As the successful candidate you will be a self-starting team player, and a curious and creative problem solver. Patient and analytical, you will have a proven track-record brokering winning solutions that mutually benefit all the involved parties and build deep, trust-based partnerships.
What will you bring?- A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in engineering, meteorology, atmospheric science, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of technical sales experience in the weather enterprise or industrial instrumentation sectors, ideally in the B2G space.
