Job Summary

Reporting to the University of Colorado’s Division of Public Safetyand Department of Security Services, the Security Technology Operations Professional supports the safety and security of the university community through the oversight, governance,coordination, and technical administration of electronic security systems. This position applies independent judgment and subject-matter expertise to support system lifecycle management,campus integration, performance optimization, emergency responsereadiness, and compliance with university security standards. Therole partners closely with campus collaborators, project managers,and vendors to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable securitytechnology solutions aligned with institutional standards andpublic safety objectives.

This position ensures that security technologies function as an integrated, campus-wide safety system capable of supportingcoordinated emergency response, rather than as standalonecomponents. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise insecurity systems and surveillance technologies, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Your

Key Responsibilities Will Be Security Systems Administration, Coordination, and Quality Oversight
  • Provide professional oversight and coordination of the installation, configuration, testing, and ongoing operation of electronic access control systems, video management systems (CCTV),alarms, and related security technologies.
  • Collaborate with Security Technology Managers to supportplanning, implementation strategies, training initiatives, and continuous improvement of campus security systems.
  • Serve as a technical resource for troubleshooting, diagnostics,system optimization, and preventive maintenance planning.
  • Coordinate and communicate with campus departments and team members to ensure alignment with security standards, projectexpectations, and timelines.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviewsof security technology installed by vendors and system integrators,including field verification, documentation review, and acceptance testing, to ensure compliance with university standards,specifications, and contractual requirements.
  • Partner with IT and systems teams to support firmware updates,system integrations, and overall performance of security technology infrastructure.
