Position: Winter 26/27: Equipment Operator Level 3

Location

Frisco, Colorado. Copper Mountain Resort is a vacation destination located 75 miles west of Denver, Colorado in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Three vibrant, pedestrian‑friendly village areas host lodging, retail outlets, restaurants, bars, and family activities. During the winter months, Copper’s world‑class terrain offers skiing and riding for all ages and abilities. Each summer, the mountain transforms into a playground for hikers, mountain bikers, and anyone seeking a genuine Colorado experience.

Copper Mountain Resort is also home to Woodward Copper action‑sports camps, programs, and training facility.

Position

Equipment Operator Level3 – Seasonal position.

Compensation & Benefits

Proposed hiring rate of $24.50 to $27.40+, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience. The role is eligible for a season pass for employees and dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Additional discount programs are available (food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.).

Job Summary

The Equipment Operator Level3 is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include trucks, front‑end loaders, dozers, compactors, skid steers, snow blowers and other pieces of equipment. The operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by policies and procedures and deal with residents and members of the public in a courteous and respectful manner.

Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment safely and effectively to minimize the risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life.
  • Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
  • Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
  • Advise the Base Operations Supervisor of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
  • Participate in routine maintenance.
  • Practice workplace safety.
  • Maintain roads and transportation systems to ensure safe roadways within the resort.
  • Ensure access to houses, water supply and waste sites.
  • Maintain easements.
  • Perform pre‑winter, winter, spring, and summer maintenance on roads.
  • Use equipment for snow removal.
  • Use equipment to level roads and ensure proper drainage.

Basic Requirements
  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50lbs.
  • 5+ years’ experience operating front‑end loaders, skid steers, dump trucks and other equipment.
  • Must have a ClassA orB CDL license.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Position may require the use of a motor vehicle, subject to the Driver’s Standards of Copper Mountain.
  • May require the use of a mountain radio/walkie‑talkie for communication.
