JOB SUMMARY

Administers preventive maintenance and repairs for all heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment including lubrication, changing filters, cleaning coils, adjustment of dampers and controls, and changing motors and fans. Flexible work shifts are required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Task Descriptions
  • 1. Maintains preventative maintenance program and completes documentation as required. Frequency:
    Daily. Time: 35%
  • 2. Perform water treatment testing for all open and closed loops – report deficiencies to associated HVAC Technician. Frequency:
    Daily. Time: 20%
  • 3. Changes air filters and lubricates equipment as required. Frequency:
    Daily. Time: 10%
  • 4. Completes work orders and requests as assigned and maintains daily work log. Frequency:
    Daily. Time: 10%
  • 5. Provides support for other departments as required. Frequency:
    Daily. Time: 5%
  • 6. Covers for HVAC technician during vacation periods. Frequency:
    Daily. Time: 5%
  • 7. Log equipment performance as required. Frequency:
    Daily. Time: 5%
  • 8. Keep equipment clean and free of obstacles. Frequency:
    Daily. Time: 5%
  • 9. Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Frequency:
    Daily. Time: 5%

    This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    The minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position. It is essential that certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, and trainings are fulfilled, valid, and not expired.

    • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
    • High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma or equivalent
    • Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in commercial or institutional HVAC systems
    • Must meet insurability requirements of the Colorado School District Self Insurance Pool
    • Colorado driver’s license

    Formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other qualifications relevant to the position that are strongly preferred but not mandatory for a candidate to be considered.

    • Experience working in the public sector, specifically public education
    • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
    • Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement
    • APPA training or certification
