Description
Boulder County Community Services Department is hiring a Joe Pelle Center (JPC) Residential Client Case Manager who will work non‑traditional shifts from Wednesday to Saturday, 10‑hour shifts with at least two shifts ending after 7:00 p.m. This full‑time, grant‑funded position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Employment DetailsHiring Salary Range: $67,068.00 – $81,834.00 annually
Location: 3260 Airport Road, Boulder, Colorado. Boulder County requires employees to reside in Colorado as of the first day of work.
Responsibilities- Exercise direct and indirect supervision of JPC clients and ensure compliance with program policies and best practices.
- Perform case management using validated assessment tools, co‑create case plans, and apply evidence‑based practices.
- Support leadership in transitioning sentencing programs into the JPC.
- Coordinate with other JPC areas to schedule client activities and manage daily operations.
- Participate in job checks, substance use testing, random property searches, and investigate rule violations.
- Ensure proper intake, evaluations, and release reviews are completed in a timely manner.
- Respond to emergencies involving clients inside and outside the facility, including after standard work hours.
- Coordinate with courts, probation, and law‑enforcement agencies regarding client assignments and program compliance.
- Provide cross‑program training, on‑call consultation, and technical assistance to staff.
- Document and testify to system partners throughout the 20th Judicial District as required.
- Support senior leadership during emergency operations as directed.
- Conduct financial discussions with clients about program fees, restitutions, and budgeting.
- Perform additional duties as required and may be reassigned during emergencies.
- Minimum 6 years of combined education and experience in criminal justice or a related field.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation available for business use.
- Background investigation with fingerprinting is required for a job offer.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (additional compensation provided).
- Previous community corrections case‑management experience.
- Knowledge of evidence‑based practices, gender‑specific programming, and trauma‑informed care.
- Self‑awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion considerations.
- Effective collaboration with employees, clients, agencies, and the public.
- System‑level knowledge of the criminal justice system, including day reporting, home monitoring, work release, and community corrections.
- Skills in de‑escalation, conflict resolution, and motivational interviewing.
- Basic business and office protocol skills, including SharePoint and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Professional communication style in all interactions.
- Ability to work with at‑risk and disadvantaged populations, including those in crisis.
- Frequent walking, bending, crouching, and standing for extended periods.
- Operation of large vehicles, occasional home visits, and physical pursuit, restraint, or control of minors.
- Frequent hand/eye coordination for computer use.
- Vision and hearing sufficient for reading, recording, and communicating information.
