Director, AI

Reporting into the VP Head to IT/IS, the Director of AI Programs will support major AI change initiatives and drive organizational transformation to enable Edgewise’s strategic and operational objectives. This role partners across the company with senior stakeholders to design, implement, and sustain AI programs and solutions that accelerate business outcomes, improve operational efficiency, and enhance organizational agility. The Director will be accountable for driving high‑impact projects, creating cross‑functional collaboration to understand key issues and foster long‑term sustainable change.

Focus areas may include the deployment and impact of AI/ML solutions, business process change or operating models.

Job Duties and Functions
  • Lead work streams as part of strategic AI initiatives across the enterprise, managing and driving alignment among stakeholders across the enterprise including senior leadership, cross‑functional teams, and external partners.
  • Lead individual programs within complex initiatives, including researching and problem‑solving with stakeholders, distilling insights and pragmatic recommendations to identify AI solutions to mission‑critical topics for Edgewise’s future success. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to, analytics and insights, clinical operations and data management, regulatory, commercial and corporate functions.
  • Prepare executive‑level communications and present recommendations to Edgewise functional and executive leadership.
  • Foster a culture of technology understanding, innovation, inclusion, and agility within Edgewise.
  • Be the AI Champion within Edgewise.
  • Read, understand, and comply with all workplace health and safety policies; safe work practices; and company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Travel as required, including all company retreats.
Required Education, Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum years of experience: 4+ with Bachelors, 3+ with Masters in driving AI implementations in either management consulting (with specific biotech experience) or biotech.
  • Highly preferred: experience with AI applications and their deployment at enterprise scale. Professional experience at a product‑focused technology company, especially with an AI/ML focused role.
  • Experience managing small to large projects in biopharmaceutical organizations, either as an external consultant or an internal cross‑functional lead.
  • Demonstrated ability to present solutions, data, metrics and ROI to executive leadership teams that will lead to better business outcomes.
  • Recognized team player with proven facilitative leadership skills in a cross‑functional team environment. Proven performance with ability to influence and align stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to interact externally and internally to support business strategy.
  • Strong analytical skills. Recognized ability to evaluate complex issues from multiple perspectives to ensure that balanced risk assessments are made.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Salary range: $185,000–$235,000, title and salary commensurate with experience.
