TheWork
Lockheed Martin’s Ground Software team seeks a Level 4 Software Engineer with a secret clearance to support the SDA portfolio, from Boulder, CO or Valley Forge, PA, on the ground product line. The role involves developing solutions for OPIR sensor‑data‑stream processing that enable missile‑warning capabilities. The position is contingent upon the program award expected in June 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, maintain, and test the Mission Processing codebase.
- Adapt and extend existing frameworks for new sensor interfaces.
- Create and document robust APIs, and build mission‑processing applications that meet stringent performance, latency, and reliability requirements.
- Write and execute unit, integration, and system‑level tests.
- Troubleshoot issues across the software stack.
- Collaborate closely with systems, hardware, algorithm, and mission‑operations teams to deliver high‑quality features on schedule.
We’re looking for a self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, critical thinker with at least five years of professional software development experience and proven ability to work in high‑performing, multi‑disciplinary teams while maintaining a focus on system quality and timely delivery.
This is a MID‑SR CAREER (level
4) role where candidates typically require 5+ years of professional experience and a BS degree.
- 5+ years of experience coding software with proficiency in Java, C#, or C++.
- Professional experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Final secret security clearance required for consideration.
- Hands‑on experience with containerization tools (Docker) and an understanding of how applications are deployed and orchestrated (Kubernetes).
- Excellence in written and verbal communication, specifically in producing high‑quality technical documentation and providing constructive, actionable feedback during peer code reviews.
Position requires a government security clearance. Candidate must be a U.S. citizen. Clearance Level: Secret.

Annual base salary range (excluding most major metropolitan areas) for California, Massachusetts, New York, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $113,900 - $200,905. For other states the range will reflect the final work location.
