Description
The Advanced Programs and Exploitation (APEX) team with Lockheed Martin in Boulder is looking for a research scientist to support ongoing programs and internal research and development efforts. The APEX team supports multiple programs related to mission processing applications of remote sensing payloads and multi‑int fusion.
Responsibilities- Work in coordination with research scientists, FPGA engineers, and software engineers for all activities required to develop, test, and deliver prototypes and fully capable systems.
- Work with software engineers to develop C++ and Python code.
- Perform data analysis to evaluate various mission processing solutions to determine the best one for various missions.
- Provide algorithm expertise (for detection, tracking and multi‑int fusion purposes).
- Optimize performance of a signal processing chain.
- Possibly work on AI/ML algorithm applications.
- Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a related technical field.
- Proficiency in MATLAB and another programming language.
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI government security clearance.
- Active secret clearance.
- Proficiency in C++ & or Python.
- Linux OS background / experience developing in a Linux environment.
- Applied mathematics or algorithm development experience.
- Experience working with data structures.
- Strong experience in software design and development.
- Familiarity with tracking & or signal processing algorithms.
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker.
- Experience with a machine learning platform such as Tensor Flow, PyTorch, or Keras.
- Experience with machine learning for image segmentation and image generation.
- Experience with software vision control such as GIT.
This position requires a government security clearance (TS/SCI). The candidate must be a US citizen and capable of obtaining a TS/SCI clearance.
Compensation & BenefitsAnnual base salary range for California, Massachusetts, New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, or Washington DC is $62,700 - $110,630. Salary may vary based on location.
