Location: Frisco, Colorado. Copper Mountain Resort is a vacation destination located 75 miles west of Denver, Colorado.
Compensation and Benefits: Proposed hiring rate of $20.50 to $22.80+. Seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Discount programs available for food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.
Job Summary: The Equipment Operator Level 1 is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, compactors, skid steers, snow blowers and other pieces of equipment. The operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by policies and procedures and deal with residents and members of the public in a courteous and respectful manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
- Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant policies and procedures.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
- Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
- Advise the Base Operations Supervisor of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
- Participate in routine maintenance and practice workplace safety.
- Maintain roads and transportation systems to ensure safe roadways within the resort.
- Ensure access to houses, water supply and waste sites; maintain easements.
- Perform pre-winter, winter, spring and summer maintenance on roads.
- Use equipment for snow removal, leveling and drainage.

Other Duties as Assigned: The job may evolve with the company and requires the operator to accept new responsibilities and transfer others. The operator functions as an ambassador of Copper Mountain, modeling and sharing the Copper “culture” with guests and employees, upholding the most professional image and continually striving to exceed guest expectations.

Basic Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year experience operating front-end loaders, skid steers, and other equipment.
- Willingness to obtain a Class B CDL License.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Some experience with a mountain radio/walkie-talkie for communication.
- Rapid reaction to physical changes; peripheral, color and depth vision; tolerance for extreme cold.
