Position Purpose

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Facilities, to maintain school buildings and grounds in an orderly, neat, safe, and operable condition.

Essential Job Functions

Perform tasks to keep school buildings and grounds in a clean condition, such as trash disposal, bathroom and floor cleaning, window washing, dusting, mowing, etc.

Maintain buildings and grounds in safe and operable condition, including minor repairs and snow/ice removal.

Inspect equipment and facilities, and recommend repairs or replacements.

Regulate HVAC systems to ensure appropriate temperatures and efficient resource use.

Check all building entrances/exits for proper operation.

Ensure all doors and windows are secured before leaving.

Maintain mechanical equipment and schedule servicing.

Obtain necessary tools, materials, and equipment for tasks.

Maintain inventory of supplies and place orders as needed.

Document work and repairs through records.

Additional Duties

Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Black Seal License
High School Diploma
Experience in building and grounds maintenance and repair
Motor Vehicle Operator's license or own transportation

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of tools, materials, and practices in carpentry, plumbing, electrical trades.
Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
Ability to follow instructions and coordinate work.
Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Good communication and cooperative working relationships.

Physical and Safety Requirements

Ability to work at heights, crawl spaces, and in poor weather conditions.
Use of hand tools and power equipment safely.
Occasional strenuous physical work.

Travel and Work Conditions

Frequent travel between schools and central offices.
Work may involve risks associated with tool use and physical exertion.

Qualifications Profile

Equivalent to a Black Seal License, High School Diploma, relevant experience, and transportation capability.
