We are seeking a Regional Sales Manager to drive growth for Oishii in New Jersey, Eastern PA, Westchester and Rockland County and surrounding areas. The RSM will lead regional sales, partner with agencies, manage a small team of District Sales Associates, and serve as the face of the brand in the local market.
Responsibilities- Build and maintain strong partnerships with key retail personnel to maintain and grow Oishii sales and achieve monthly/quarterly/annual targets.
- Manage inventory allocations and levels for each account, ensuring orders meet daily demand based on data.
- Ensure all accounts meet Oishii merchandising and quality standards and maintain minimum inventory levels to prevent out‑of‑stock situations.
- Build loyalists among key retail staff by educating them on Oishii’s brand, farm and products, encouraging them to recommend Oishii to customers.
- Oversee partner agencies and potentially junior sales staff.
- Collaborate with a third‑party merchandising agency to support best‑in‑category merchandising and store presence/relationships within the region.
- Spend 80%+ of time in‑trade/field during the week and weekends, with availability on weekends during the month.
- Travel throughout the assigned region 3–4 days per week for store visits; may work up to 5 days during launch or surge periods and occasional weekend availability.
- Support market launches by creating locally relevant field marketing strategies.
- Collaborate daily with sales leadership and distribution team to manage inventory allocations and order fulfillment, proactively developing distribution strategies for 100% utilization.
- Identify and develop opportunities in the region to grow consumer awareness and drive trials, owning the region and driving sampling opportunities.
- Develop an understanding of potential partners such as restaurants, cultural societies, bakeries/ice cream shops, and events (food, sporting, etc.) that will support an effective field marketing strategy.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.
- Minimum 5–7 years of field sales/management experience, ideally within CPG/Grocery.
- Experience with big‑box retailers is a plus.
- Ability to shift priorities quickly, communicate effectively, and work cross‑functionally at all levels.
- Leadership skills, able to develop diverse teams.
- Problem‑solving skills and ability to work through ambiguity with sound judgment.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to develop and implement ideas, processes, and policies rapidly.
- Bias for action, accountable and ownership of driving results that impact company outcomes.
- Experience handling complex employee‑relations issues, with tact and confidentiality.
- Must have weekend availability for recurring store visits; occasional overnight stays may be required.
- Candidates must reside in the North Jersey market area, hold a valid U.S. driver’s license, and have a reliable personal vehicle for travel into Eastern PA, Westchester, Rockland County and surrounding regions.
- Physical stamina required, including prolonged periods on feet and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 plus equity and mileage reimbursement at the federal rate.
