Dental assistant

A dental assistant supports dentists during patient care and helps keep the dental office organized and efficient.

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials before procedures.
• Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures.
• Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment.
• Take and process dental X-rays when permitted by local regulations.
• Prepare patients for treatment and help them feel comfortable.
• Record medical and dental histories and update patient charts.
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care after procedures.
• Mix and prepare dental materials such as impressions or temporary fillings.
• Maintain infection-control and safety standards.
• Schedule appointments and assist with basic administrative duties when needed.
• Maintain inventory and restock dental supplies.
• Follow patient confidentiality requirements and office policies.
