descriptionclassified position is announced to all applicants.
3.5 hours per day/166 days per year/grade 3 $ 17.24 per hour (2026-27 support salary table). This is a one year only position. Promotions result in a 5% minimum increase.
note: the esl tutor will assist our eld teacher in the classroom, assist with wida testing, and work directly with mll students to help them be successful in school.

educational requirements- high school graduation.
- minimum qualifications: the equivalent of two years (48 semester hours) full-time education at an institution of higher education; or an associate's degree; or the ability to pass a utah state office of education approved para-professional test.
- proficiency in a second language and a knowledge of a second culture.
- ability to work well with students, teachers and administrators.
- ability to demonstrate patience and empathy when working with children.
- basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, english pronunciation reading comprehension, pronunciation, etc.
