Job Overview
A Medical Assistant will provide patient care in an ambulatory clinic setting, assisting providers and communicating with patients via telephone and in-person interactions.
Shift Details- 40 hours per week, full‑time
- Clinic hours Monday–Friday 6:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
- Float shift: schedule varies with coverage; 4 ten‑hour shifts and one day off per week (day off not consistent)
- Provide patient care under the direction of the clinician, assisting providers to gather information relevant to patient visits.
- Communicate clearly with patients through telephone and in‑person interactions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on patient care.
- Maintain attention to detail and follow‑through to support high level of patient satisfaction.
- Assist with coverage in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics as needed.
- Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR an active RN/LPN license in Utah.
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers, obtained prior to start date.
- Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver high customer/patient satisfaction.
- Knowledge of protecting privacy, confidentiality, and PHI.
- Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
- Computer literacy using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
- Current national MA certification: RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or CMA (AAMA).
- Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent verbal communication with patients and providers; ability to understand spoken information during emergencies.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate medical equipment and use computer/typing.
- Ability to lift, carry, and transport supplies and patients, including heavy items.
- Capacity to walk, stand, and navigate busy clinical spaces.
- For roles requiring driving: operating a vehicle safely.
Bountiful Clinic – Bountiful, Utah. The hourly rate is $20.07–$28.59, depending on experience.
