Job Summary
Viking Heating And Air is looking for a skilled, dependable, and customer-focused HVAC Service & Repair Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of residential and commercial HVAC systems. You will play a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction by providing high‑quality, professional, and efficient service.

ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
- Diagnose & Repair: Accurately troubleshoot and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems (split systems, RTUs, boilers, furnaces, heat pumps, VRFs, and chillers).
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections, such as cleaning coils, replacing filters, and checking refrigerant levels to ensure optimal performance.
- Customer Service: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, explaining technical issues and recommending repair or replacement options clearly and professionally.
- System Start‑up: Assist with or lead the commissioning of new equipment and perform initial start‑up procedures.
- Documentation: Use company software to accurately document all work performed, including detailed notes on repairs, parts used, and customer signatures.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all safety guidelines (OSHA), local HVAC codes, and company quality standards.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked company vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Experience: 4+ years of HVAC service and repair experience (residential and/or commercial preferred).
- Certification: EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; HVAC trade school certification preferred but can be substituted with trade‑specific classes and specialty courses.
- Licensure: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
- Technical
Skills:
Proficient in reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and occasional blueprints. - Soft Skills: Strong problem‑solving abilities, professional communication skills, and a commitment to customer service.
- Physical Ability: Able to lift 50+ lbs, work in tight spaces, and handle work in varied weather conditions.
- Availability: Willingness to participate in an on‑call rotation for nights and weekends on a limited basis.
- Competitive salary ($30-$70 per hour) based on experience.
