Job Description
As a Special Education Teacher with The Menta Group, you will collaborate with the clinical staff and other members of the academic team in creating and implementing classroom interventions to meet the individual academic and social/emotional needs of the students.
LocationMenta Academy Bourbonnais in Bourbonnais, IL
Staff Hours7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., M-F, following a 10 Month School Calendar
Responsibilities- Teach all subjects in a self-contained classroom.
- Maintain classroom sizes of approximately 10 students with paraprofessional support.
- Adapt to teaching various grade levels during the school year as needed.
- Provide a differentiated learning environment.
- Collaborate with curriculum and clinical staff to achieve positive student outcomes.
- Personalize learning experiences for each student.
- Foster a social‑emotional learning environment.
- Teach within all basic instructional areas.
- Work with youth who have emotional, behavioral, or academic difficulties.
- Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, and creative problem‑solving skills.
- Communicate effectively in written and oral formats.
- IL PEL (Professional Educator's License) with LBS1 Certification or willingness to obtain LBS
1. - PEL General Education Teacher Certification with willingness to obtain LBS
1. - Out‑of‑state applicants must obtain IL certification.
