Job Brief

The role involves overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the rebar fabrication department, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity while supervising a team of technicians and operators.

Job Responsibilities
  • Promote and expect conduct consistent with NRF’s vision and values.
  • Work with shop Leads and Supervisors to establish daily work assignments and maximize shift operations.
  • Oversee all department teammates, safety, and shop housekeeping while meeting production quality and quantity standards.
  • Conduct continuous department walkthroughs to maintain the highest safety standards.
  • Assist Leads in assigning mentors and training teammates on safe, efficient equipment use.
  • Maintain shared responsibility and accountability for team safety, shop housekeeping, production, and quantity standards.
  • Understand and assign daily workload to the team.
  • Operate equipment: shearing machine, bending machine, forklift, overhead crane, grit blaster, powder coating booth, power spray gun, and various hand tools.
  • Communicate continuously with Supervisors and other department Leads.
  • Troubleshoot production problems to minimize delays and ensure equipment functions safely and efficiently.
  • Assist in maintaining all department equipment.
  • Perform department quality control: routine walkthroughs and inspections to ensure accurate fabrication, correct quantity, proper tagging, and timely task completion.
  • Oversee inventory needs and assist in the ordering process.
  • Ensure all established policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are followed.
  • Collect required data for production reports, timesheets, incentive calculations, and other supervisor‑requested reports.
  • Operate computer equipment efficiently.
  • Maintain the department in a clean and safe manner.
  • Provide limited assistance in operations so shift work is completed efficiently and on time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • High school diploma, GED, or local/state equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years in a production environment or related experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
  • No new corrective actions within the past 24 months.
  • No unexcused absences in the past 12 months.
  • No Safety or Quality alerts in the past 24 months.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of branch software programs such as Navision, Dayforce, and aSa.
  • Understanding of branch production flow.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA Industrial Safety Standards.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Crane Trainer certification.
  • Ability to operate all department equipment efficiently.
Physical Demands
  • Some heavy lifting may be required.
  • Work conditions can be noisy, dusty, hot, or cold.
Special Demands
  • Position is safety sensitive due to operating conditions.
  • Must be able to work overtime when required.
  • Must be able to work any shift.
