School Social Worker, Crisis Counselor
Bring your expertise in school social work to a rewarding contract opportunity supporting 8th-grade students! This full-time, temporary assignment runs from August 7 through November 27, providing essential support during a maternity leave. Youll have the chance to work closely with students, educators, and families, helping to foster a positive and inclusive school environment.
KeyQualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work from an accredited program
- Valid professional license to practice as a school social worker
- Previous experience in a school setting, particularly with middle school students
- Sound knowledge of adolescent development and behavioral intervention strategies
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Deliver direct counseling and crisis intervention services to 8th-grade students
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and establish intervention plans
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and parents to develop strategies that support student success academically, socially, and emotionally
- Lead and participate in meetings, such as IEPs or 504 plans, offering professional recommendations
- Support social-emotional learning initiatives and foster positive behavior among students
- Serve as a resource to staff and families, connecting them with community services as needed
