When it comes to environmental consulting, we’re focused on cleaning up our communities today to improve tomorrow. We’re looking for a Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer to work on exciting site investigation and remediation projects for government and private-sector clients. The position will draw on your strong planning and communication expertise to support the delivery of environmental projects by coordinating field effort preparation and supporting technical analysis and report writing activities.
You should be a self-motivated professional with several years of demonstrated industry experience. We will rely on you to maintain strong relationships with our internal teams and our clients.
Most projects will require thoughtful strategy development, leveraging technical expertise, and client and stakeholder collaboration. All projects need to be delivered with high safety, compliance, and quality standards expected by both Jacobs and our clients. Responsibilities- Support the delivery of environmental projects by coordinating field effort preparation and supporting technical analysis and report writing activities.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal teams and clients.
- Contribute to strategy development, leverage technical expertise, and collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
- Uphold high safety, compliance, and quality standards in all projects.
- Bachelor's degree in geology or hydrogeology, environmental engineering, environmental science or a related field
- Professional work experience within an environmental consulting firm, conducting site investigations/characterizations, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, engineering evaluations, remedial designs/actions, and/or optimizing remediation systems
- Previous experience conducting field work under minimal supervision (e.g., soil, groundwater, air, and soil gas sampling, borehole logging and drilling subcontractor oversight, remedial technology implementation and construction observation)
- Experience writing and preparing reports, and communicating findings to clients or stakeholders
- Ability to work constructively and collaboratively with clients and stakeholders
- Ability to build relationships, motivate others, and provide strong leadership to drive results
- Master’s degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, environmental science, geology or other closely related technical degree
- Professional Engineer or Geologist (PE or PG)
- Connecticut Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP) or aspiring to obtain license
- Massachusetts Licensed Site Professional (LSP) or aspiring to obtain license
- Experience with vapor intrusion characterization and mitigation
- Experience with human health risk assessments
- Location in the greater Boston area
Estimated travel requirement ranges from 10 to 25%. Some overnight travel may be required. You may be allowed to work remotely, with a minimum of two days per week at a Jacobs’ workplace.
