We have a great opportunity for the right candidate to join our patient services team. We are looking for someone with a passion for primary care and the drive to support our clinical service.
Main duties of the jobUndertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice, primarily secretarial duties. Provide an efficient typing service for GPs and health professionals as required, including typing of letters, reports, patient referrals etc., working effectively with individuals in other agencies to meet patient needs.
Prioritise urgent cancer referrals required under 2ww referral rules.
Process patient referrals using the E-Referral system and emails where appropriate.
Process Advice and Guidance.
Scanning documents related to referrals.
Occasional cover of reception if required.

About the Practice/Department/Team
Here at the Hereward Practice we aim to provide the best care and service to our patients in a busy department.
We are a small administration team working behind the scenes to assist our clinicians in looking after our patients.
We look after over 12,600 patients at the practice so this is a very fast paced working environment, which makes it an exciting and rewarding place to work.
Job responsibilitiesUndertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice.
Primarily secretarial duties plus administration work.
Provide an efficient copy typing service for GPs and health professionals as required, including typing of letters, reports, patient referrals etc.
Work effectively with individuals in other agencies to meet patient needs.
Person Specification Experience- Are able to use Systm One (clinical database) in a primary care setting
- Experience of working in a busy, multi-skilled team
- Good working knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience of working in an NHS setting
- Experience of handling confidential information and data
- Good standard of education
