Job Summary

The Boat Guy Inc. is seeking a full‑time skilled and detail‑oriented Marine Mechanic / Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background, including outboard engine maintenance, troubleshooting repairs, and repowers, as well as a familiarity with related vessel systems such as 12 V electrical, sanitation, and hydraulic systems. This role requires a passion for marine technology, excellent problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Repair Marine Engines:
    Identify issues in outboard engines, including electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, through competent troubleshooting practices.
  • Routine Maintenance:
    Perform scheduled maintenance on boats and marine equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, and other essential service tasks.
  • Electrical Systems Work:
    Conduct repairs and maintenance on 12‑volt electrical systems, including batteries, ignition systems, and wiring.
  • Communication:
    Communicate clearly with the service team regarding the status of repairs, estimated timelines, and any necessary actions or recommendations.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Technical degree or certification in marine mechanics or a related field – not required.
  • Experience:

    Solid mechanical experience in marine, truck, RV, equipment, motorcycle, or small‑engine fields.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Proficient in diagnosing and repairing a wide variety of marine engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
  • Tools & Equipment:
    Must possess own tools; specialty tools will be supplied.
  • Soft Skills:

    Strong problem‑solving abilities, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and eagerness to work in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.
  • Technology:
    Basic computer skills.
  • Teamwork:
    Ability to work well in a team environment.
