Job overviewUniversity Hospitals Dorset is seeking a friendly hardworking, reliable person to support the Catering team within the Central production kitchen, (CPK). You will be working with our team of chefs to produce meals for the hospitals within University Hospitals Dorset.

Main duties of the jobAs a vital part of the catering team, you will support our chefs in producing high‑quality meals for University Hospitals Dorset. Your primary responsibilities include following production plans to accurately pick and weigh daily ingredients, maintaining precise ingredient selection and thorough records for accurate audit trail. You will maintain high standards of hygiene within the Central Production Kitchen, collaborating with the wider team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department.

UHD invests, develops and transforms Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently. If a role or service relocates, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute.

Person specification Experience- Experience in catering
- Experience in working in a large scale catering operation
- Good standard of Education (GCSE’s Grade D or above)
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- Health and Food Safety Qualifications
- Good standard of Numeracy and Literacy
- Good general understanding of the Catering / Retail industry
- Able to work as part of a team and mix with other members of staff
- Openness to change and ability to respond quickly to tasks
- Able to work on own initiative and follow clear instructions
