We are looking for a motivated individual to join the Catering department at University Hospitals Dorset, working within the Central Production kitchen. This demanding role requires good physical fitness, flexibility, and strong organisational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Package and label patient meals.
- Perform general cleaning duties.
- Assist in the production kitchen as needed.
- Work in a cold environment, using provided cold‑weather clothing.
The role is part-time, 21 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm, with flexibility in start/finish times.
Location:
Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
Qualifications:
- Good standard of Education (GCSEs Grade D or above).
- Basic Food Hygiene.
- Awareness of relevant training upgrades (e.g., Allergen information).
Experience:
- Prior work experience within the catering industry.
- Prior experience in food handling.
Knowledge:
- Good general understanding of food safety regulations.
Personal
Skills:
- Identify opportunities for improvements within your area of responsibility.
- Openness to change and ability to respond to improve performance.
- Ability to work in a cold environment.
- Proven reliability.
Other
Skills:
- Willingness to be flexible in working hours and able to work on weekends.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check:
This position requires a DBS check as per the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, Exceptions Order 1975.
Salary: £25,272 a year (pro rata if part time).
