Job Overview

Join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician in our SMR Division. You will work across the Bournemouth cluster, covering Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Wimborne, Ringwood, Wareham, and Swanage, operating out of a fully equipped RAC van with a digital scheduled system for pre-booked appointments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Routine servicing of light vehicles.
  • Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
  • In-depth repairs usually completed in a workshop.
  • Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspections.
  • Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
Qualifications
  • Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
  • Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary of £40,178 with on-target earnings up to £52,000.
  • Guaranteed overtime option to increase base salary to £44,385, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities.
  • Full-time 40‑hour week with core hours 08:30 to 17:00 and one Saturday in every four weeks.
  • All necessary tools, a RAC van, fuel card, uniform and advanced diagnostics equipment provided.
  • 23 days of holiday (rising to 25 with service) plus bank holidays; paid family leave and flexible scheduling.
