About the Role:The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization by ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. This position is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations, including the preparation of financial statements, budget management, and tax compliance. The Senior Accountant will also lead the month‑end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial results.
Additionally, this role involves mentoring junior accounting staff and providing guidance on best practices in accounting procedures. Ultimately, the Senior Accountant contributes to strategic decision‑making by providing insightful financial analysis and recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
- Proficiency in Quick Books Online and advanced Excel skills.
- CPA certification or equivalent professional accounting designation.
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role within an accounting team.
- Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Oversee the month‑end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and resolution of discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing insights based on historical data.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Proficiency in Quick Books Online is essential for managing financial transactions and generating accurate reports, which are critical for informed decision‑making. Advanced Excel skills are utilized daily for data analysis, creating financial models, and performing complex calculations. Strong analytical skills enable the Senior Accountant to identify trends and variances in financial data, providing valuable insights to management. Effective communication skills are necessary for collaborating with team members and presenting financial information to stakeholders.
Leadership skills are also important for mentoring junior staff and fostering a positive team environment.
