-6:00 p.m.;
Saturday, 8:00 a.m.

They service both foreign and domestic vehicles and specialize in engine repair, transmission services, electrical diagnostics, and general automotive repair. About Power Train Auto Service

Power Train Auto Service is seeking an Automotive Technician in Bowie, Maryland, for a hands-on general repair role paying $35-$40 per flagged hour. The shop has five bays and five lifts, including an alignment rack, and works on a broad mix of vehicles. You’ll join a small team where technicians handle assigned repairs from start to finish and where engine and transmission work is an important part of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair customer vehicles across a variety of makes and models
  • Complete assigned repair work from initial diagnosis through final repair
  • Remove and replace engines and transmissions
  • Use Bosch and Autel diagnostic scan tools to support automotive diagnostics
  • Use ALLDATA to research repair procedures, diagrams, components, and parts information
  • Identify needed components accurately and communicate specific parts information to the Service Advisor
  • Perform job-related road testing as part of the repair process
  • Complete both general automotive repairs and more involved mechanical work

Qualifications

  • Hands-on automotive repair experience beyond basic maintenance services
  • Previous experience removing and replacing engines and transmissions
  • Ability to diagnose vehicle concerns and complete assigned repairs
  • Ability to use automotive diagnostic equipment and scan tools
  • Ability to research repair procedures, diagrams, and parts information
  • Ability to communicate repair and parts information clearly with the shop team
  • Maryland state inspection license preferred, but not required

  • Flat-rate pay of $35-$40 per flagged hour
